Live Your Dream Awards
Live Your Dream Awards are cash grants to women who are continuing their education while providing the primary financial support for their families. These women face many obstacles including poverty, domestic violence, trafficking, and sexual assault. Their strength and resilience has led them to continue their education, but they need resources and encouragement to complete their goals.
The Live Your Dream Awards program helps women gain the education and skills they need to improve their employment prospects, increase their family income, and to realize their dreams of a better life for themselves and their families. The women receiving these financial awards may use them for any costs associated with their educational efforts, including tuition, books, child care, living expenses, and transportation.
With access to resources to support their education, award recipients go on to improved employment prospects, greater earning potential, and higher self-esteem. They not only change their own lives, but also serve as positive role models for their children, helping to mitigate generational poverty.
Past Live Your Dream recipients are healthcare administrators, small business owners, financial professionals, nurses, therapists and other professionals. If you would like to help women like our award recipients, consider making a tax-deductible donation.
Applications to this program are made through Soroptimist of the Americas. Each year, Soroptimists award over $2.0 million to more than 1,500+ women in Soroptimist’s 19 member countries and territories.
Since 2017, SIDT has provided over $137,300 in cash grant support to 29 Southern Arizona women.
